Dragon Oriental sits on the corner of Faulkner Street, right in the heart of Manchester Chinatown. Look for the green sign and the neon in the arched windows upstairs. Inside it is a bright, busy room: wooden tables set with placemats, Hong Kong prints on a teal wall, and staff moving fast with platters of roast duck and bowls of soup noodles.

We cook Hong Kong food the cha chaan teng way. One big menu of Chinese BBQ, baked rice, clay pots, noodle soups and main dishes, with milk tea and big desserts to finish. Students drop in for the lunch special, families book tables, and groups share set meals for two to six. It gets lively, and that is how we like it.
Hong Kong milk tea is the drink to have here, and the iced mix of coffee and tea wins over people who have never tried it before. If you would rather eat at home, we do takeaway and delivery too.
